Blogmas Day 2: Holiday Makeup Haul

So, my birthday was in November which I have come to appreciate more and more because those who are close to me know the quickest way to my heart is a gift card to Sephora or Ulta. Add that in with the fact that HOLIDAY MAKEUP COMES OUT LATE NOVEMBER/EARLY DECEMBER and I am the happiest penguin on the iceberg. So I figured I would do a small haul post (because let’s be honest who doesn’t love a haul?!) and give you some of my honest reactions to the products. Heeeeeeeereeee weeeee gooooooooo!

1.Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Mistletoe

Okay, so I am with Bite Beauty. Their lipsticks are beautiful creations, and this one just so happens to be their Holiday Kiss Collection color in Mistletoe! While this lipstick isn’t a matte finish (the current popular finished look for lips these days) I don’t even care! Why you ask?? Because this lipstick is incredibly hydrating and loooooong lasting. It has a pleasantly citrus smell (which honestly is amazing) and is gluten-free, and made with natural food grade and organic ingredients as well as being petrochemical free. So not only do I feel good about how my lips look with this beautiful blue red, but I also feel good about where my money is going.

2.Bite Beauty Multistick in Macaroon

Another product from Bite! (Can you tell where I spent most of my time?) This is one of their new multisticks that can be used as a blush, eye shadow AND lipstick so really this little beauty is a triple threat. Now, while I ADORE Bite Beauty the one thing they don’t have is a liquid matte lipstick, but never fear because the formula of the multistick makes it look like you are wearing a matte lipstick! The catch? THERE ISN’T ONE! As always this lipstick (that’s what I use it for primarily) is super hydrating and the shade Macaroon is a perfect flirty neutral for my skin tone and coloring.

3.Bite Beauty Multistick in Mochi

Okay, so I’m not even sorry that I bought two multisticks at the same time. I am IN LOVE with this red, think Peggy Carter from S.H.I.E.L.D. I’m not sure what else I can say without sounding repetitive, so I’ll just say that if you are in the market for a comfort matte red lipstick this one is pretty much universally flattering on all skin tones and is well worth the investment.

p.s. It’s also made without any parabens, sulfates, or phthalates so there’s that amazing gift Bite has given the world of beauty products.

4.Bite Beauty Lush Lip Tint in Raspberry

So this beaut is a lip tint that, again, is mind blowing. MIND BLOWING. This is one of the seven shades offered and it provides the hydrating full lip coverage that you want in a lip tint without the peeling that can sometimes accompany this sort of beauty product. The shade of raspberry gives me a sophisticated look without being ‘too dramatic’ (there is no such thing but if you are like me and have a job to go to it’s for sure workplace friendly). It has Argan Oil and vitamin E so your lips feel super loved and cherished, which if we’re being honest with our collective selves we need because Winter is the season of cracked and dried out lips in need of TLC.

Tarteist™ Pro Amazonian Clay Palette

Okay, so before I begin I want to address that if you were to type the name of this palette into youtube or google you would find hundreds of reviews and the opinions seem to be split down the middle as to whether or not this pallette is worth the hype it has received. I find that the Tarteist™ Pro is a lot like fried pickles- you either really love it or really hate it. I happen to fall in the first group of people, but if you are in the latter then that’s totally fine!

This palette boasts sixteen matte eyeshadows and four new shimmer metallics, and for my skin tone and coloring (tres pale with neutral undertones) it’s sheer perfection.

The initial impression this palette is luxury and glam, like I feel like Adele preparing for a performance at the Royal Albert Hall. I’ve also swatched the shadows so you can see them in action:

Ya’ll have no idea how gratifying it was to peel the stencil off.
  1. Classic
  2. Vintage
  3. Chic
  4. Indie
  5. Innocent
  6. Fierce
  7. Profesh
  8. Bold
  9. Whimsy
  10. No Filter
  11. Mod
  12. Edgy
pls ignore the left over lipstick on my arm… this is why I can’t have nice things.
  1. Smoked
  2. Vamp
  3. Drama
  4. Punk
  5. Ethereal
  6. Glam
  7. Minx
  8. Trendy

Overall I think that this palette is totally worth the price, and while there is a little fall out from the eyeshadows I would ask what eyeshadow doesn’t have some sort of fallout (other than liquid or creme but then that’s a totally different ball game). I love that the shades vary from understated neutrals to edgy glam colors that would elevate a day look to a night out look in under 5 minutes (well, maybe not for me but maybe for someone who was better at makeup haha). I think Tarte has once again created a knockout product that I look forward to using in my daily make up routine.
